Volunteers Supporting Porter Ranch Therapeutic Program Working with Special-needs Kids and Horses

Here is a look at some of our volunteers helping out at Porter Ranch. Porter Ranch is a therapeutic program for special-needs teens. Horseback riding and animal engagement are often attributed to positive correlations in the behavior of those with special-needs.

Our volunteers' activities included assisting special-needs riders with mounting and leading the horse (with the help of Porter Ranch staff), grooming the horses, cleaning the track, raking the stables, and feeding the animals.
